WB 53 water-based pipe coating is a white, anticorrosion pipe coating formulated based on a water-based binder and zinc phosphate pigments, developed specifically for use in greenhouses and processing with a fleece painter’s mitt, brush or roller. Our standard white paint is specially coloured, and has a blue glow, which ensures a brighter appearance and excellent covering capacity. WB 53 water-based pipe coating is completely harmless to humans, animals and horticultural products once completely dry. Steel surfaces must be free of dust, grease and dirt. Can be applied to most existing coatings, and bare steel. Preferred layer thickness at least 60 micron of dry layer, optionally applied twice on new tubes. The product has excellent adhesion to steel and many other surfaces. As with all water-based paints, processing should take place at a minimum processing temperature of 12°C and a maximum relative humidity of 65 per cent. For good drying and film formation, and to prevent flash-rust, we recommend applying the product to pipes with a surface temperature of 20 to 24°C, and to ventilate sufficiently in the greenhouse to ensure any water vapour released is quickly removed. The ambient temperature and the temperature of the substrate should not be too high in order to not adversely affect the flow. WB 53 water-based pipe coating is extremely efficient in use; approximately 70 metres of horticulture heating piping can be treated with only 1 litre, depending on the layer thickness per coat. CLEAN tools with plain water. Stubborn dried-on paint residues can be removed with butanone (MEK). THIN as required with plain water. Rinse water and paint residues should not be discharged into the sewage system, in connection with the formation of agglomerates and potential blockages.
